Our broad range of wire rope products are fit to serve every need, from operations, to falling prevention, accessories, and fishing wire.
About Our Wire Rope
Our in-house integrated production system is ready to meet any request.
Currently, our wire rope is primarily used in industrial machinery, automobiles, OA equipment, leisure equipment, and daily commodities. Our products have a broad range of applications depending on their size. Thick wire rope products are used as makeshift median strips and protective fencing on highways, while ultra-fine wires are used in a range of medical applications.
O.C.R. specializes particularly in ultra-fine wire.
Our production system is controlled in an integrated manner according to the product application, covering wire drawing, twisting, and coating, making it possible to swiftly respond to any request. Looking ahead, we will continue our research and development efforts to deliver high quality products at a cheaper price.
Successful Development of the World’s Thinnest Wire at 9 μm!
O.C.R. has succeeded in developing a stainless single drawn wire with a diameter of just 9 µm (0.009 mm).
It is expected to contribution in precision fields such as medical devices.
This has now made it possible to manufacture φ0.081 mm wire rope featuring a configuration of 49-strand 9-μm wires.
There are a broad range of wire materials available, including stainless steel wire, galvanized steel wire, copper wire, brass wire, and pure silver wire, and the right wire material needs to be selected for the intended application.
At O.C.R., we primarily focus on developing wire rope using stainless wire materials.
Stainless steel provides corrosion resistance, thermal resistance, and shock resistance properties.
There are also a wide range of stainless steel materials available, each with their own distinctive characteristics. As such, the appropriate stainless steel material characteristics must be selected to match the conditions and environment in which it is to be used.
The two main rope materials used are SUS304 and SUS316L.
SUS304 (18cr-8Ni) |
Provides corrosion resistance, thermal resistance, and mechanical properties. This material is typically used for rope materials unless expressly specified otherwise. While soft wires are non-magnetic, hard wires have magnetic properties. |
---|---|
SUS316L (18cr-12Ni-2.5Mo-Low C) |
A 18cr-12Ni-2.5Mo steel that greatly reduces carbon content while offering good corrosion resistance, acid resistance, and intergranular corrosion resistance. |
We can also process other materials. Please contact us for more details.
Our wire rope products feature a complex arrangement of numerous wire strands. It is important to select the rope you need based on an understanding of the different features of each.
This is the most basic wire configuration. A steel core is used for the core.
This is used for a broad range of applications, including accessories and fishing equipment.
This uses strands of the same material for the rope’s core, and comes in combinations such as 3×7, 7×7, and 7×19. Mechanically it is the most versatile rope type, providing outstanding rigidity and flexibility. It is used for a broad range of applications, from office equipment, automobiles, acoustic equipment, interior and leisure products.
This uses rope for the rope core, with twisted strand rope on the outer layer. Available combinations include {(7×7)+(8×19)}, among others. This is frequently used in machine components that need to be highly flexible. Generally, nylon resin or another type of synthetic resin is used to coat the outer layer of the rope as contact stress on the rope will cause it to lose its shape and adversely affect durability if left untreated.
There are two directions of twists used for rope, Z twists and S twists.
A coating is applied to wire ropes to combine the properties of the metal material and the resin to produce a product that possesses new properties.
NYLON-6 | Features outstanding weather resistance and chemical resistance, and is used in the fishing industry, particularly in ropes for recreational fishing, and in ropes used in accessories. |
---|---|
NYLON-12 | Offers greater flexibility than NYLON-6, and is used in a broad range of applications, such as wire ropes in repeating driving elements and other mechanical components. |
*Oil and carbon can also be added to boost corrosion and wear resistance.
